Shell Zhimei Partners with Hengzhou Technology to Build Joint R&D Platform for Automotive Films

On June 2, 2026, Shell Zhimei and Hengzhou Technology signed an in-depth strategic cooperation agreement in Zhangjiagang to create a new integrated production, sales and research model for the automotive film industry. Shell Zhimei boasts mature terminal channels in the auto aftermarket, with full insight into car owners’ consumption demands and store operation systems. Hengzhou Technology holds core patents for magnetron sputtering technology and covers a full product line including window films, TPU paint protection films and color change films. Its newly-built TPU color change film production line in Zhangjiagang has been fully put into operation, with a sound global warehousing and distribution network. The two parties will jointly build a laboratory and launch exclusive customized production lines for Shell, forming a complete closed loop covering raw material formulation, coating technology, weather resistance testing and terminal warranty. The cooperation will upgrade two core materials, nano hot melt adhesive and hydrophobic self-healing coating, and launch special window films for new energy panoramic canopies that do not interfere with millimeter-wave radar. The new products will be rolled out to more than 2,000 authorized stores nationwide within this year. Relying on the channel advantages of both sides, the two brands will accelerate the substitution of imported high-end automotive films by domestic products, and simultaneously deploy export businesses targeting Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern overseas markets.
